True, but theres 3 centers on the depth chart above Krebs, even before their prospects arrive, and probably gets 2mil or so on his next deal at his present production. Laughton plays wing and center, is coming off back to back career years production wise on an offensively challenged team and plays a more rounded game for a team who might need that style more.

Mittelstadt only played center when Thompson was hurt. Krebs likely (hopefully) starts out at 3C

I could see buffalo trade at deadline. But I would imagine I'd Adams is dangling Krebs it'll be for a more immediate need like a goalie.

Laughton would help that 3rd line overall. But your reasoning was pretty flawed, you just named our 4th line and Greenway. However, Greenway was targeted by the coach and probably has more value to the team than what his value is around the league.
If throughout the year an addition is needed I could definitely see this trade happening.

1- Krebs can also play the wing
2- even though Krebs may be listed 4th on the Center depth chart, he plays a VERY IMPORTANT ROLE for us, going up against other teams’ top lines on a nightly basis

He’s immensely valuable to us,
& there’s ZERO CHANCE we move him for Laughton
And very little chance we’d move him at all
