I'm going to ignore the other trades.

You'd need to give more up for Henrique + retention IMO but, I think he'd be a good fit in Boston and I haven't really seen people suggest him before, congrats for thinking outside the box!

Backlund would also cost more. Taking on Forbort coats assets and Poitras is a B prospect

Ducks say no. 50% retained on henrique takes more than a fourth. Forbort blocks the LDs Ducks are trying to develop.

I agree the trade is missing assets from Boston but, for 1yr, considering D take more time to develop I wouldn't say Forbort would be blocking anybody, Fowler went straight to the NHL but, it won't hurt any prospects to play a season in the AHL

Thanks for your comments. I'm not a bruins fan so I don't really know about their prospect depht chart. I think Lysell might be the only prospect they would not offer for a rental. Who else could bruins add to make a deal fair?

CarlssonSzn, from what I read on different ducks threads is that they were poor in defense and would benefit a stop gap for their young guys. I see Jackson Lacombe on a lot of ducks fans top 4, I mean the guy might be ready for NHL minutes but you really think he can handle a top 4 role immediately? Forbort is not an elite dman we all know that, but he got enough experience to play those minutes, and he can be a TDL selling option, and if not, he likely will walk in free agent market. You're probably right that the offer is too poor, but I think Forbort could fit with the ducks, take off pressure on young defensemen and let them enough time to developp, they can overtake Forbort when they'll be ready somehow during the year.

Idk why people have Lacombe in their top 4, he doesn't really project that high. One of Zellweger/Mintyukov are expected to make the roster out of camp and play top 4 minutes alongside Gudas. We got Zellweger, Mintyukov, Hagg, Lacombe, Vaakanainen all competing for two spots on the left side already. There's no need for Forbort unless it's a cap dump and Ducks are getting a nice sweetener.

A lot of Ducks fans would be happy to have Forbort at the cost of like a 4th or 5th round pick. The Bruins cap situation doesn't give them a lot of leverage in a Forbort trade.

Henrique 50% retained should get a 2nd round pick plus a decent but not great prospect. That makes it really hard for the Bruins because they already traded both 2nd's from 2024 and 2025. I don't see a pick in 2026 having great appeal.

Depending on how training camp goes with regard to Laine, I could see Roslovic for Gryz working for both sides. The cap hits are nearly identical, Roslovic would get the opportunity to play center which he prefers (which is starting to look unlikely in Columbus with Fantilli on board and if Laine can in fact play center). Jackets need a stable 3LD who can play higher if Werenski gets hurt again who doesn't have term that will block the prospects next season.

No we take Forbort this year for free to play with Drysdale but like you said about Rico, no shot

However, it DOES mean you're either committing to letting Grizz walk in the next offseason (or trading him at the deadline), OR trading Provorov at either of those points. Because at least one of Mateychuk/Svozil will be ready by the start of 2024-25.
