The only way TB was able to do that was it it was a shortened season, they knew the recovery time of the surgery as Point and Gourde had respectively had the same surgery by the same surgeon the 2 previous off seasons. They had him try to rehab it until they knew his standard recovery time. So again unless TB has an injury that can miss 7 months this is a complete troll take. Besides this would put TB over the off-season salary cap.

For one, my take is reality. I don't fault Tampa for doing it. But they did do it. Secondly, I know you've been watching hockey a lot since 2018, but teams can go 10% over the cap in the offseason. Hence why they can use LTIR to go over the cap.
