If Zhilkin is taken out I'd do it but the Jets won't trade Lowry, they love him for some reason.

It’s good value for Vancouver. Lowry is the stereotypical 3rd line center. He brings a lot of stability to this team and we also get rid of Garlands contract. Garland is good but we don’t need him

So Lowry for Garland, Räty and a 3rd? That’s a lot but reasonable

Its not so much about Lowry as it is about cap space though his size and position is something the Canucks desparately need. I realize that I've paid a lot but feel the return is worth it.

We don’t gain much cap space though? Giving up one of our best prospects, a good 2nd line winger, and a 3rd for a 3C who’s only put up 30 points once and is average defensively is a big overpay

I just really don't think much of Lowry but I'm in the minority of Jets fans who feel that way, most love him and so does ownership and management.

Garland is a steady even strength contributor which is something the Jets really lack, the other pieces are just nice adds to the deal for the Jets, can totally see how its an overpay by Van though, what GMs and coaches actually think might be very different from what we as fans think though about these players/assets.

Nothing reasonable about that. Lowry is a guy you can find in free agency for FREE

I agree it’s an overpay for Lowry, but I don’t think it’s much of an overpay. I suspect Raty & Garlsnd would suffice

I doubt WPG is in a hurry to move a big 3C who plays a heavy game.

Why would you trade either for him? I'm happy that WPG doesn't want to move Lowry because it means we can't overpay for him. He is 30, and easily replaceable in free agency. Literally a career high of 36 points. We just got Blueger for free and he is younger, has better production over his career, and is good defensively and on the PK. We didn't have to give up Garland or Raty to acquire him. Lowry has no value

For some reason? The guy is the heart beat of the team. He is big, physical, great shut down guy, great PK guy, loved by his team mates. I don't think a single person that knows anything about hockey can find a single thing to criticize about his game. Maybe I am out to lunch but I have never heard anyone ever say a bad thing about his game.

The heartbeat of a team that has clearly had off ice issues and he questioned the head coach like that clown Wheeler did when they earned a calling out by their coach. Idk how Jets fans aren't questioning both Lowry and Morrissey as leaders after their post season interviews.

I think he's very overated, took till his 9th season to finally break the 30 point plateau which should be standard for a good 3C, in his career year he went 41 games with ONE GOAL, literally half a season with one goal, only in Winnipeg would a guy with that track record be considered good... lol

He is good at fighting which he should be doing more of from the 4th line with 10 minutes of ice time, he'd be an ideal 4C.

These are things I've been saying about Lowry for years, the guy hit a career high which is pretty average productivity for a 3C in his 9th bloody season and yet he's considered to be this unbelievable player, he gets a lot of hype in the Winnipeg market so I guess that's where it comes from but it baffles me that fans don't see him as anything more then the 4th line tough guy he is.

The guy is a shutdown player. How many shut down players do you know that get big points or many points in general. Also, the whole team has every reason to be disappointed in Bowness and how he handled that situation. Guy should've been fired immediately. He was in the locker room before hand and didn't say a word about how he was feeling.

Imagine you not doing your job and you are sitting in your bosses office and he doesn't say anything. Later you go home and turn on the news and see that after he sat with you he went to the media and then blamed you and said you were pretty much garbage. Now you have to face people you know and discuss how you were just embarrassed without any idea that it was going to happen.

while I agree with every thing he said. It should have been said behind closed doors. For a veteran coach, it seemed like he threw everyone under the bus to try and keep his own job. The players had every right to call him on it. Every one seen it for what it was. I was embarrassed for the team the way it all unfolded.

Yeah he's great at shutting down his own teams offense.. lol
Hands down the most overrated player of the Jets 2.0 era.

Should be embarrassed by the team and their pathetic effort.

I didn't like the Bones hire from the start but he wasn't wrong in what he said, at the same time they really not on the same level as Vegas so its not a surprise they got slapped around by a better team.

Every team Vegas played in the playoffs got slapped around the exact same way by them.
