Rasmus is definitely a really solid #1 d-man, perhaps close to being top 10 in the League, but I can agree this trade doesn't make much sense for TOR. They already have Reilly and Klingberg for the offensive stuff, they'd want Hanifin instead to be defense first. And for sure, CGY would need to add more to it.

I think Willie would be more realistic than Marner in this trade if you swap Rasmus and Hanifin.

Likewise, BOS doesn't really need any LD; they'd be more interested in Lindholm. I don't really think any of these trades/trade partners make any sense here

Thanks for the respectful insight, much appreciated. I guess we all natural sway towards our home team smile. Thanks

No shot the Leafs do this for Marner alone, let alone with Lilly.

Fair offer but I would hope Boston declines.

They have had a boner for Noah before he was drafted but at this point it would be a mistake. With Lohrei not far from rounding out the top 4 long term, blocking him isn’t wise when they have other holes to fill.

Now same offer for Lindholm…

That would make far more sense for Boston.

Agreed, wouldnt hate that deal, but blocking Lohrei wouldnt be wise with how close he is to the bigs

Youd think any deal for Hanafin would/should involve Lohrei, so that he can develop into the top 4LD elsewhere and not be blocked by Hanafin/Lindholm in BOS

Lindholm would make more sense, but do you think BOS would have to add slightly?

There are 32 #1 d-men in the League, name 25 better than him

He is absolutely the #1 d-man for CGY

just because he plays #1 minutes doesnt mean hes a #1. Fox, Makar, Hedman, Pietrangelo, Heiskanen, Karlsson, Toews, Theodore, Ekblad, Pesce, Slavin, McAvoy, Orlov, Hamilton, Lindholm, Spurgeon, Letang, Carlson, Morissey, Weegar, Pettersson, Ekholm, Dahlin, Seider, Playoff Rielly, Sergachev, Hughes, Josi and Werenski are all objectively better than Andersson, you can even make the argument that andersson isnt even the best dman on his own team.

Andersson's age, salary, continued improvement, skating and vision put him right in the middle of this list; and I am being a hockey fan here that watches a lot of games throughout the league. Maybe you need to watch a few Flames games before you make this list and assume based on basic stats and especially historical play. I would take Anderssen over half these players that are certainly on their twighlight years and although great players, leaders with past success, a younger dman with still many years of upside, his recent play and right shot put him right up there.

i was talking about last seasons play, all of those players were significantly better, could even throw brent burns in there, point being andersson is probably an above average #2. would compare him to morgan rielly, little bit better defensively but worse offensively

EVERY PLAYER on that list was "significantly" better? Is the smog in Toronto affecting your brain, my God man.

It's all good dude, all in good fun, IMO Anderssen is a little better than you are suggesting. There is a LOT more than your public stats, many more analytics and opinion. ATDA!
