The cap space and actual $$ owed to Murray and Brodie will cost the Leafs dearly to move them, to believe they will actually get a 2nd round pick in return is pure fantasy.

Brodie = $5 million cap hit, $7.5 million in salary owed

Murray = $4,687,500 cap hit, $8 million in salary owed, 75% of which ($6 million) would be Chicago's share

Most Often Traded Maple Leaf = not a great needle mover

Bottom Line: you'd probably need to pay for that package even with Robertson in it.


Because that would save them $8.5 million or $9.5 million and two roster spots.
