He was actually really good in Carolina. They moved him for contract issues, not performance issues. That's rare for DeAngelo.

What exactly is the issue with Tony DeAngelo in your opinion? He was absolutely great in Carolina last year and was loved by fans and team mates. He was forced to play top 4 mins a lot but wouldn’t now.

I don’t agree with giving him 3 years, but 2 years would be good.

Great move for CAR. I 100% understand that DeAngelo has a past that isn't exactly someone you'd want your kids to look up to. No Doubt. BUT I'm someone that believes in second chances and from everything I can see/read...he was a decent person in CAR and his year back in PHI. Maybe you can show me something I missed? He's a puck mover for sure. He doesn't play a ton of defense. CAR as a team can easily do that. AD's role will be diminished on this CAR team vs his previous tenure because Burns isn't taking a step back on the PP unit. But he'll be the #2 PP QB and the bottom pair RD. I say give the guy another contract. If he messes up, terminate it.

I'd go 1 by 1, no need to go higher. It's not like any other team is going to want him.

Contract was a Buyout not Terminated but yea he’ll be a free agent anyway! He should go back to Carolina, was pretty decent there and can play a bottom pair role and feast

Those were tamed last year in CAR. I wouldn’t go more than 1x1 for him bc I think on the ice he has value and would be in a very sheltered role so if they can’t land EK he’s a very cheap replacement who’s not in the same class but can make some things happen offensively and on the PP.

Now having lemeuix plus him I’d be a little concerned about. What’s the saying about habits 2 cancers in one locker room versus 1? I think RBA could handle it but not sure if it’s necessary regardless. And it also seems like a backup option at this point.
