Leafs accept. Anderson at half cap would be a very good contract. Leafs could use the remaining cap on increasing the size of their D.

Some team might give you a pick for Evan's but it won't be the Hawks

MTL is not getting anything of value back for garbage players with garbage contracts. Hoffman and Dvorak aren't going anywhere unless MTL attaches draft pick compensation.

Ducks pass. Give us picks to take Dvorak, and don’t need young LHD with all the prospects we have (Mintyukov, Zellweger, Lacombe, Hinds)

Funny how the same thing was said about Edmundson too, you saw that trade right?

Edmundson only has one year left on his deal, MTL had to retain 50% and they still only got a 3rd back. Unlike all the proposals that MTL fans thought they would get good prospects and/or 1st's and/or 2nd round picks for him.

Habs pass on Nylander. We would just be taking on the same problem the leafs are in now with a tough negotiation and a player wanting 10M

3rd & 7th @ 50% retained.

Hoffman has 1 year remaining.

Dvorak has 2, but plays C. The second year isn't a hinderance.

Regardless, MTL won't be paying to move anyone. More likely their contracts are ridden out before the thought of trading assets with them just to move them occurs.

Of course we all shoot for the moon on returns but the moral of the story here is that even though every other fanbase said our players are trash, and would have to pay to move any of them even at 50%, this was not the case and we still got a return.

Completely different circumstances. He was traded on July 1st because that is the day Signing bonuses are due. He was only owed $1.187M after bonuses, and then WSH was only responsible for about $600k after retention. That is the only way he would've been worth anything. Considering Hoffman and Dvorak have multiple years left and get paid almost double what Edmundson does, MTL would more than likely have to pay to move them, or get VERY little in return even at 50% retained (FC's, a 7th round pick, an ECHLer that will never touch the NHL, etc). Maybe some team would be willing to pay for them, but you'd have to pay CHI to take them.

But, yeah, if MTL doesn't need to move them, then why do it?
