Can't be mad at the moves Donny has made so far this summer. There wasn't a lot a money for him to work with but he's put the team in a good position for this upcoming season. To start, I wouldn't have personally traded Hall to clear up space however, I'm not completely opposed to it. Mitchell isn't a bad guy for depth and could be a long term bottom pair option. Not signing Bert is a W in my books because the term and money would've ran the B's dry. Orlov and Cliffy got PAYED and Foligno, Nosek, Wags, and Hathaway walked as expected. I like the signing he's made so far. Shattenkirk is a very solid add for the bottom pair and JVR and Geekie had a good depth scoring throughout the lineup. Obviously Lucic coming back is exciting so long as he plays his role.

Getting Sway and Freddy signed right now should be number 1 priority. I would like for them to stop waiting on Bergy and Krejci and focusing on a new core of players..."Newbies" or "New-B's". Without those two it'll be hard to find guys who can fill those roles. The plan was to always try and replace Bergy with a guy like Zacha. Both skilled defensive guys who can turn it up offensively playing with the right guys. Finding a high-end skilled playmaker to replace Krejci with isn't easy though. Would've loved to get E-Rod and was hopeful when I saw the Domi and Duchene rumors, but the #1 target now should be Scheifele. The 4C spot is up in the air between Beecher and Brown but I really like/want Beecher so that's my pick. I also strongly believe one of Grz or Forb gets traded to free up room for Zboril/Lohrei to split time on the left side.

1C spot goes to either Bergy or Scheifele in this scenario but I'm still uncertain at what package gets him here. If Bergy doesn't come back the "C" goes to McAvoy in an instant. This team will go farther than last years, I'm certain.
