Konecny isn't a big enough upgrade over Olofsson to justify the rest of that package. I also wouldn't be spending that much on a winger that only has 2 years left on his contract.

I think TK will get a very good package. I just don't think it should be coming from Buffalo based on where they are at in their building process.

If I were Buffalo I would keep Olofsson and the rest of those assets rather than spending them on 2 years of TK.

TK is only 26. So in 2 years the Sabres can resign him long term if they want. Realistically it is Olofsson 1st and Ostlund for TK. Sabres getting a mid rd 4th for Joki. I think it is fair as a Sabres fan and hockey fan. TK is exactly what the Sabres need.

I'm a huge Konecny fan and agree that he'd provide some of the sandpaper that the Sabres lack......the problem with adding him is that it automatically shuts Kulich and Savoie out of the top 9 for the duration of Konecny's contract (which, if the Sabres were to acquire him at that cost, would likely lead to an extension).

I'd be on board with the Dumba signing if Jokiharju is dealt but I don't think that signing will happen at that price or term. Likewise, Tatar signing won't happen for the obvious reason your lineup shows: who comes out of the forward group when Quinn returns around Christmas? There's no way Granato will sit out Greenway, Girgensons or Okposo.

Guys get hurt all the time. When Quinn comes back there prob be 1-2 guys hurt then too. So Kulich Rousek may be playing some sort of roll. Okposso is 16 away from 1000. Sabres want him to get 1000 here so we signed him for another year.
Dumba will be signing short term 1-2 years around 3.5-5. In 2 years cap going up and he will be looking for payday. Lot of teams can’t afford players like Tatar and Dumba so to be in top 9 and top 4 1-2 years is the way to go.
