Ever consider that perhaps the reason guys like Namestikov stick around is because they're offered term? They don't like Winnipeg, it's just that Vlad has played on literally 8 teams in 6.5 years. He likely would play in Tijuana if they offered him 2 years, guy is just sick of moving.
Definitely. No one likes being dumped around the league. But you completely missed the point. Vlad, Nino, Lowry, Ehlers and Morrissey have privately and publicly stated they like WPG, want to be a JET and work really hard. That's what matters.
He didn't have to say that and neither do the rest. But, WPG needs that. If enough players say it and some or many believe it, then maybe it sets a new mindset and belief that guys like E. Kane, Scheifele and others have hurt by their comments and play.
Hey, I grew up in WPG. I didn't stay. If someone gave me the same amount of money to play and live in Nashville, I would go in a heartbeat. I get it.
But, the JETS NEED guys who publicly say they like WPG and want to play there.
Vlad probably still would have been offered the contract based on the fact that he has a chance to play, but nice for WPG that he made some positive comments.
