Calgary needs Zadorov more than they need another Tanev like player

Doesn’t make sense for the Hawks.

Murphy is worth a late 1st or 2nd + on his own. To dump Murray’s contract would cost the Leafs a late 1st. So basically this proposal has the Hawks giving up those two late 1sts plus another 1st and 2nd and then they will have to increase payroll another $9m to resign Nylander… not a good use of assets for a team in the early rebuilding stages.

Hawks easily decline. Nylander isn't worth the $9m + it will take to resign him - especially to a rebuilding Hawks team.

Nylander would bring so much more back in trade than Murphy ever will. To think otherwise is literally insane

3 years of Murphy > 1 year of Nylander to a rebuilding Hawks team. Hawks decline.

Take Murphy out of the trade then I really don't care. He wasn't the key piece. I just assumed the way Chicago dumps players they don't care

Please stop this obsession with sending Murray to Columbus. They already have one **** tier 5 mill goalie, and Dubas went to Pittsburgh.

Then trade him to another team that will give the Leafs “so much more”, rather then a rebuilding team.

The leafs are resigning him. They gave Bertuzzi 1 year to make sure they have room for Nylander and Matthews next year
