i don't think Carter is waiving to go to any team except maybe LA, but LA would not want him back and i dont think they're giving up Byfield for that.

it was a long shot trade with a reunion between carter and kings with rangers being a middle man in a 3 way sense.

Let's say the Kings wanted those assets, they aren't trading someone with a <$900k contract right now even if Carter comes back at $1.5mil.

my thinking is based on the kings win now mentality and with byfield being your 4th best center it gives value where value is due. hes amazing and i think hes worth a lot so i added a lot of value

Byfield is the Kings #1LW right now. Nothing of that is valuable to the Kings. Jones would be fighting for 7th Dman, Carter is useless and I wouldn't want him back without multiple 1st attached, and Sykora is lucky to be a 6-10 prospect in LA. The 1st is the only good thing but it's a late pick and nothing good to move Byfield for.
