These moves don't address the need for a real #1 center, but I've left Backlund on the team to help that transition. I don't think Phillips is the #1 C, Kadri or Backlund could play top 2 center minutes for now until that is sorted out. Backlund is a better trade deadline target with more value being dealt to a contender trying to ensure center depth. I know Nylander only has a year left on his deal, and it doesn't solve the reason for dealing Lindholm to begin with. However, it might just work out if he can see that he can have a significant roll. If not, deadline move out. This keeps the team competitive, and adds picks and pieces for the future.
