Yeah, to most teams not named the Flyers. I was just listening to Marek and Friedman say they prefer Sanheim over Severson lol

I can't see any team thinking Sanheim's 6.25m X 8 contract is good long term value. Leafs need cap next year, and LHD are about the easiest position to find.

Weird but kind of interesting spot for sanheim might be Arizona, but ya I think your correct otherwise, deangelo and Arizona I would say wouldn’t be a fit, not exactly a shine up and trade at deadline type guy.

You must hate Sanheim if you want to banish him to worse sports franchise in North America (Arizona)happy His NTC will kill any deals to (bad) teams with cap.
Hey he might accept a trade to the Jets, but you as Jets fan wouldn't want that a presume.

He’s actually from a neighbouring town from im from, he’s a 4 paid like a 2/3, but Arizona would have the random ltir cap and abundance of picks to make a trade that could use a stabilizing force on that back end. With the jets to be honest I want them to tear it all down completely, effectively only having some 3 year capdumps to run out and abundance of picks to draft our way back. Just can’t build the blueline well enough or Center ice position without top 5 picks. Goalie can be replaced, some centers possibly, but the blueline won’t be good enough or vice versa. Maybe just missing hockey lol

Yep for the Jets, it certainly like a rebuild, Lots of good upcoming UFAs and Jets are hoping for good returns, having cap in summer of 2024, and kinda start fresh. Best wishes to the Jets and their fans.

Sanheim 48 million expanding the family farm to the extreme, I just don’t see jets either offering enough term or money to get the ufas or the ufas come with other options out there, unless they have played in Winnipeg previous 7 years ish. So still voting for the tear it right back to the studs.

Yes Winnipeg is not a place most players want to play. But with teams so cap strapped and NHLers wanting to get paid, It may not be as difficult to persuade players to come. Might have trouble with US players from the East Coast but if money and opportunity talks....maybe the Jets can do OK with UFAs.
Trouble with Winnipeg of course is the winter weather, the 2nd worse travel schedule in the league, and the "isolation" which makes travel difficult for some family and friends to visit. I know in my company few people transfer to Winnipeg and people even refuse promotions to go there.

Fair enough, I think the only way to true success is draft and develop, team seems to have a roadblock between moose and jets, and also the draft has slowed down also, so some internal issues to deal with. Wish they had a bit of an extended junior approach and keep trading back into a nucleus til they truly got it right, but definitely the wrong gm for such an undertaking. How about your mighty leafs, who so want a cgy tor gilmour/leeman esque blockbuster to blowup the off-season, not sure gilmour is residing in Calgary at the moment though.

The Leafs prospects is barren. Few true NHLers in the Leafs pipeline. Terrible trades and drafting by Dubas.. I can't see the Leafs doing any blockbusters as they really don't have the pieces. Leafs do have a decision come TDL...do they "go for it" with the current lineup or do they trade Brodie, Nylander and Matthews at TDL for futures. I would prefer the trades, but don't think it will happen. And I don't expect Matthews or Nylander to be resigned by the Leaf

Too bad such high hopes, does that lead to mass exodus? Do you think nhl gets closer to closer with nfl and nba and player movement, lean on the draft heavy and buy buy buy, then let them walk or trade for value, and do it all again.

Gee, I hope the NHL doesn't go NFL and NBA player movement . I like the idea of seven years of control.. The NHL and NBA used to have similar revenues, but the NHL just doesn't have "paid " US television exposure and the fans to make "buy, buy, buy possible. Besides does anyone except an IT grad know how the NFL.NBA and MLB cap works. And the NBA....cap and exemptions so difficult to know. If the NHL went by the cap and trade as the other leagues, it would be the end of CapFriendly.

Ya I would be absolutely lost, I kind of meant by more guys walking and teams having more cap room to buy for holes in free agency, instead of there cap being eaten up so much by star players. Probably never get there with the time needed to develop the kids post draft. Ya I like the 7 years, still think the jets should run 7 year cycles, of bad better good. Was quietly pulling for leafs this post season to break streak. Thought it was going to break there way when Florida beat Boston.
