Anaheim is one of the more likely places for Panarin, for a potential trade. Probably needs to be a non contender. I’d like to get Vatrano back in the deal tho

Goodrow trade is absurd for the Rangers and Panarin waives to play for the Ducks when pigs start to fly.

Anaheim may make sense to NY to acquire Panarin, but acquiring Panarin doesn't make sense to Anaheim.

He's aging, his leg speed is slowing down, he is a one dimensional player and defense was our biggest issue. He is not hard to play against like Verbeek wants, etc.

He can't score 100 points if we can't get control of the puck, and he does nothing to help with that. Look at how poor Klingbergs points were in Anaheim, it's the same issue.

Yes, Panarin is still a good, maybe great player, but we would be taking on the a$$ years of his deal, giving NYR a huge cap relief, and what does it realistically get us? A very highly paid aging winger that doesn't fit our timeline, and doesn't help with the issues we are having keeping the puck out of our own zone.

I would rather keep the pieces going to New York in this deal than acquire Panarin. If you want Strome back maybe there is a deal to be worked out there.

Hawks decline. Take out the 3rd going back to the Rangers and swap Berard for a better F prospect and the Hawks at least consider it. Assuming Goodrow will even waive for Chicago.

If you're moving panarin you don't then sign tarasenko for an overpay. Contract expectations are 3x5m for Tarasenko, who may not want to stay in NY without panarin.
Additionally if you're moving out panarin, you then lock both Laf and Miller up. You dont' need to bridge them. Give laf an 8 year x 5m (similar to mckinnon) and you give Miller 8x6.5m
You then have about 10 million for the bottom 6.

You dont need to move goodrow, because you've locked up the top 6, and top 4.
So you have room without that.

Can't see Anaheim giving up those draft picks, but I could see something based on Vatrano and Henrique for Panarin and Vesey. Vesey's solid defensively and inexpensive. Acquiring Panarin and pairing him with Strome, likely could put the team in position to sign Tarasenko (who is hard to play against). McTavish-Zegras-Terry, Panarin-Strome-Tarasenko is a potent Top 6 that makes the Ducks more competitive right now, and still leaves them with cap space to shore up D, even after signing RFAs. Panarin and Tarasenko on the roster could help ease Mintyukov's transition to NHL, and takes some offensive burden off top line. By the time their contracts are up, next gen from this years draft haul is ready. Feels like it could be a win-win.

Pretty good job OP. I don't think the Ducks give a 1st in a deal for Panarin though, and I don't think Goodrow is negative value. That's a significant overpay that Chicago would accept before the words are out of Drury's mouth.
