If we make the trade with Winnipeg, the AAV cannot exceed 8 on the extension. Otherwise why not just wait a year and go for Sorokin. WPH fans I’m offering a top prospect, a 1st, Vitek, as well as throwing in Shara’s rights. I’ll even take in half of Wheelers contract to get it done.

Yeah I’d go 8 AAV on the Helle extension. Leaves enough for the Mercer extension after this year

I think you should bring a third team in to eat some of Wheeler's salary. I also don't think Winnipeg does anything with Jersey unless it starts with Schmid. They will need a good replacement for Helle with team control, because no top UFA come to Winnipeg.

I think that would be a doable extension for Hellebuyck. I think he'll find the market just won't support the salary he wants. Unless Pittsburgh gets in there and does something desperate.
