Description

Hello guys. I'm bored at work so I'm doing website-side mocking for 23-24 draft. Right now, the mock draft looks like
1) Bedard
2) Fantilli
3) Carlsson
4) Smith

Given the top 4 draft, a lot of Canadiens fans look to trade down. Here's a proposal for one of them. Philly fans and Canadiens fans, let me know your opinion.

I have called that one last week... but tell me:
Why is MTL who give a B-Prospect and not Phily?
Value from 22 to 31 is not higher then 5 to 7... on my book 5 to 7 will always be HOT VALUE

think MTL will only be interested in moving up, The have plenty of mid level prospect the chance to land their choice of a top tie player at number 5 will be too good to pass up.

Right but here's the thing; in this mock, they didn't - no fan of the top 4 thinks that happens. You can't trade with an unwilling partner, so they're now we're here @ 5 with a proposal to trade to 7.

then i'd stay at 5, Michkov is too far ahead of what you would get at 7th to justify that trade, especially when you have the habs adding struble, but even without him i wouldnt do it.

I think this would be great for NEW GM DannyB to stands out and MTL are not losing that much thinking they can still keep Leonard at 7 or Reinbecher and pick another great asset @ 22nd like Barlow, Perreau or Sale
put Phily need to trow in something

ya i think that is one of the players they are considering, my point is if i was hughes/gorton i would rather get the player i want at 5, then move down to take whoever is left at 7 just to move up 9 spots later, they need to hit with that pick and moving down makes it much less likely.

I understand your points... but if they don't take Michkov at 5OA... and in 3 years he comes and do what Kaprizov did... it will be a disaster
If they go to 7OA and pick Leonard and get a Perreau type that won't be available at 31... people will forget/forgive

I'd do this deal if I was PHI and Michkov is available. Struble a decent prospect, pure athletic goon that they can hopefully mold into something on the bottom pair.
