Description
Sell Myers at TDL for 50% retained.
2025 picks could be valuable. IF the Canucks keep losing, Petey asks out, or hughes. The team could be taking a big step back.

Lafreniere is going to cost more than that to acquire and to sign. The Rangers have a tight cap situation so they probably don't want Garland.

It will likely cost Vancouver the 11th OV pick+McDonough+a 2nd or 3rd and maybe taking Goodrow's contract in some capacity to land Lafreniere.

Yeah I genuinely and respectfully don’t think that’s his value currently

I'm probably undervaluing McDonough but Garland is not going to be desirable, and I don't think McDonough+2nd+4th is enough.

Probably the 11th OV+2nd+4th is what it would cost. Lafreniere's value is down but he's also still only 21 and he was the consensus 1st OV pick, so it should still require a top 10 pick to acquire him, the 11th OV is basically that in this draft.

You wouldn’t even get 11 alone for him right now, because he’s so young you might get a late 1st from someone but I’d expect even less if they move him this summer

A top 3 pick selection at age 21 isn't going to net a late 1st, even if he had no production. Lafreniere has ~40 pt per year. It's rare for a top 3 selection to get moved at that age regardless of their development or whichever team has him. That's why it took so long for Holland to cut ties with Puljujarvi. No one wants to face the embarrassment of being unable to develop high end talent and then watch them flourish elsewhere after selling them for pennies on the dollars. The New York Rangers especially when they already had Andersson and Kravtsov fail, and now Lafreniere and Kakko. The difference is that the later two who were blue-chip prospects when drafted and they aren't 23 yet.

I'm not a Rangers fan, but knowing how patient Drury was with Georgiev and the fact that Lafreniere was the consensus 1st OV pick and Rutherford/Allvin's track records, I wouldn't be surprised if the deal was 11th OV+McDonough+.

Drury got a late 1st out of Nils Lundkvist who was a prospect that wanted out.

Lundqvist got that because he’s a rhd which is the most valuable position in hockey. It seems to me the rangers either need new scouts or need to learn how to develop players properly. Regardless of that laf hasn’t taken advantage of the opportunity he has been given and while I agree he could still turn it around you’re never going to get close to the value of where he was drafted with him playing the way he has. I believe the rangers will hold onto him longer but as I said if they move him this summer they’d be lucky to get a late 1st back from this draft.

There's a massive difference in value between 1st and 11th OV. The difference between the 1st and 4th OV pick is the 11th OV. The 1st OV pick is worth two 11th picks+. So, I'm not saying Lafreniere is still worth a top 3 pick, just that his value isn't that low. The 11th OV in this draft is probably worth a 9th in another draft, not a top 3 pick.

Rangers might need new scouts but they definitely need to learn how to develop forwards properly since Lafreniere and Kakko aren't cases of poor scouting.

All the trash NYR fans got from VAN fans about NYR potentially buyout Goodrow and you buyout OEL. I just think it is poetic justice.

Also NYR doesn't go near that offer.

Canes will pass. A 1st, 3rd liner winger, 2 change of scenery prospects, and a depth pick doesn’t hold enough value to actually get Pesce.

Dach got 13 + 66, and d+3 laf vs d+3 dach, laf out produced him significantly.

I wouldn’t say laf significantly out produced him he slightly did but dach also missed basically a full season cause of that broken wrist. Not to mention he’s a 6’4 Center so teams will always have interest in that.
