Mrazek + 1st costed us 13 spots to move down (2nd round pick came back) and he had 2 years left.

Peterson costed a 2nd for LA to move and had 2 years left

How does Murray + 1st = 3rd lul

Cause if u look we could arguable give up just a third to dump Murray somewhere and ask for nothing back if LA got out of 2 years of Peterson for the cost of a 2nd. Murray's making less and has 1 year left on a cheap buyout

Habs will decline. Hes a UFA with a 10 team no trade clause, no way they recoup the pick in a trade

Not the same situation as Chicago who needed to reach the cap floor, or LA who desperately wanted to move cap out to sign someone else

Actually it is. Toronto wants to move on from Murray as they got Sammy and Woll. So using the LA scheme they can go 2 years or Peterson who was in the AHL at 5mill costed a 2nd to move so 1 year of Murray at a lower cap hit should cost a 3rd and we dont take anything back. As in the end all they really want the cap space.

LA and Philly lowered the dump cost of a goalie rn. As 2 years of Pete at 5mill arguable could have costed more than just a 2nd but Philly was like hey we will take him

Except it isn’t the same, maybe it is for Toronto but not San Jose. Dont need to hit the cap floor

So now there is one less possible destination for Toronto to trade Murray to. Sharks don't need to make the trade so if they do it needs to be worth it. I don't think a 3rd gets it done, and SJ would just look elsewhere to use their cap space.

Dont need to trade with SJS can do Arizona, Chicago, Anaheim, Carolina, Nashville, whoever

They can buyout Murray cheap and move on ez

As when the team gets him they can just buy him out and it costs them way less.

Would not surprise me if SJS do the same with Murray as Chicago did with Mrazek as they got a new GM whose new to the trade block and if we look at some they were not good or questionable

Toronto can move Murray to Chicago like they did Mrazek and they buy him out, can do the same with Arizona, Anaheim, Carolina, Winnipeg, Nashville, etc

As they can take Murray buy him out and only be charged 683 cap year 1, 2mill year 2 and get a third out of it

Heck Leafs can buy him out themselves as they can afford the cap hit years 1 and 2. As caps going up 2024-2025 by more than a mill

We already saw how the SJS sharks GM deals it's similar to how Davidson mDe a deal with Dubas for Mrazek. Would not surprise me if we move 13spots and ditch Murray
