It's better than most the offers I have seen since CBJ traded their LA pick to Philly. The 2024 pick definitely holds less weight.

So far the Jackets off season moves have hurt next years roster more than it’s helped. They acquired two additional high risk defenseman to play with Werenski, haven’t fixed their center issue, and have no goaltending to speak of. Jarmo should’ve been fired for even considering these deals.

Year 2 of record injuries? I would assume they will be better with Babcock and a healthy roster.

Babcock is going to be a disaster in Columbus. He’s inherited a roster with no goaltending, his defenseman are all high risk types, and he has no legitimate first or second line center. Also he’s a ****ty coach. It’s going to be a **** show.

What? Jackets defense was one of the worst in the league and they went out and added two decent top 4 guys and are getting werenski back. Defense will be way better next year.

Provorov has played very poorly for the past two or three years. Severson is overpaid and prone to catastrophic mistakes. Not the type of guys I would’ve targeted to surround Werenski who is also a high risk player.

Provorov can be put on the second line in a much better role. Severson is second pairing guy who might have to bump up to the first line for a year or two but considering they 5 rookie defenseman starting at times last year it will be a huge improvement

Yet. . , you mean Yet.

Provorov is one of the better shot blockers out there while averaging 25 mins
Good and Bad years for him advance stats and point shares wise
It all depended on who his RD was and how they were playing

Severson i think you overpaid for contract wise but gave up nothing to speak of for him versus what he brings to the table.
His Projects WAR % is 94% over the past 3 years and you cant say that about a ton of RD playing his kinda minutes.
Not to undervalue the boost he provides to those around him

I think Jarmo is waiting to see what the market is like
That said Elvis had great numbers right up until Savard ,Del Zotto and Seth Jones all left at once
The next 2 years after that he's seen a decline for sure but look at the difference going from shot blocking all around D to mentoring 23-24 year olds
With Severson there , that should be addressed

Del Zotto is a bad defenseman. Also blocking shots isn’t a meaningless stat, but it increases ur chances of getting hurt and it also means that ur team doesn’t have the puck.

Keep the 1st and the Jackets can have JT Miller for Sillinger and Boqvist.

Someone who finds a negative about someone who's a regular full season player blocking Shots just seems like someone who complains after sex is all.
Provorov has miss 42 games ever . . . . with four 82 game seasons including this year and 79 last year
His biggest danger isnt blocking shots he's trained to become one of the best
When he got hurt it was trying to up his Physical Game as a Hitter and he was not ready to go hit for hit with guys on that level like a Radko Gudas

Quit being a troll. Jackets had a bottom 3 defense in the league last year. These moves absolutely make the jackets better immediately. Goaltending will be helped out by not having AHL guys in front. Center issue is helped by Voronkov and will be addressed with the #3 pick.

Exactly!
I mean im nowhere near a CBJ fan
But ive looked at Elvis enough times to know the system alright(when i look at struggling Goalies i always look at the system )
I learned Pretty Quick guys like Savard and Severson become key players for Elvis as they Communicate ,Shot Block Properly and control traffic around his net by smothering players.
I know its pretty boring stuff but guys like that help Goalies like Elvis and really even Carey Price had Josh Gorges and Ben Chiarot but i digress.

My point is even of spending 20 minutes looking into CBJ system a few months ago at TDL i know these moves they made make them a threat in a VERY Deep Eastern Conference.
All NYI Troll had to do was spend half that doing a little research to know they get up 2 pending UFA's return in a 1st and a 3rd round pick plus CBJ own 2nd round pick to get Provorov(with RS 2m)& Severson.
Thats nuts! they did all that for basically a 2nd round pick outta pocket and still have Hutchinson and a 7th round pick left from their UFA's return
If Jarmo ends the summer by solidifying his net with lets saying a Hellebyuck sign and trade then he's a shoo in for GM of the Year cause once he drafts Carlsson They filled all their major needs
hopefullynextyear a aimé ceci.
