I'm sure Winnipeg would rather have Fantilli in that case.

PLD won’t sign with the Jets but decides to do so with the worst team in the league last year?

No no no. He signs with Montreal then they absolutely grease him and trade him to Anaheim. Lol

first of all fifth worst so suck on that, first round exit. Second of all, idk if you've lived under a rock for like the last two whole years or what but its pretty set in stone that PLD will end up in MTL at some point in his career.

Oh yeah they signed a guy to a contract and then instantly traded him? Who did they do that to?

no wiggle room for this guy. not instantly but they certainly made a few harsh moves involving fan favorites when they decided keeping them would hurt the team (paccioretty, MAF). in that same logic, MTL decides that picking up PLD will increase their chances of getting a player with higher potential (fantilli) and pull the trigger because the team will be better in the long run.

I’m talking about the ducks, who were the worst team in the league, you are signing and trading to the ducks in this ACGM.

The difference is they both played 4 seasons in Vegas. They didn't just sign a long term contract and then get traded. That would be an absolutely grease ball move for any GM and no one would sign with a team if they did that.

one time wont be the end of it for the habs. maybe if it was a team like Winnipeg (ironically) where nobody wants to be in the first place but i think most guys could get past one move like that

You could theoretically, but expect every player the Habs sign after to demand NMC or NTCs, which I imagine PLD would ask for, as he has already has limited the destinations he will accept. In contrast the ducks have already interviewed Fantanelli and will have him locked in at an ELC for 3 years, they have no idea how happy PLD would be as a duck.

One of the silliest sequences of trades I've ever seen. Well done!

Problem is the Ducks don't want PLD. There is no trade package that exists with Montreal for 2OA that doesn't include 5OA. You can keep the smurf Farrell. You can keep the overrated 3rd pair defenseman. You can keep the guy not getting a QO and turning UFA next week. You can keep your picks that are three drafts in the future.

Start offering pieces with value if you want 2OA. And the Ducks will still say no.
