I gotta disagree with you there. Guenztel is a legit 35-40 goal scorer every year, this would be a steal if the Devils were offered this package.

Don't love all of it but there's lots of good stuff here. Terry will cost more but if he's available I'd go for it. Interesting Guentzel trade too.

The Devils shouldn't be interested in just next year, this is about the future. When you start moving your top prospects, when they actually have that high value, it shortens your window. If you are going to move Holtz, why not get someone with term?

I think it leaves defense a mess (specifically bottom pairing) and running back the goaltending shouldn’t give anyone a warm and fuzzy, but it’s definitely a start. I wouldn’t call this team a Stanley cup contender with this roster but leaves a lot of room in ‘24 offseason to improve so long as Sid, Geno, and Letang sustain their play.

Not a fan of the Jake trade, especially considering the fact that Holtz is on the 4th.

I think Garland is a strong buyout candidate, so you could maybe even get him for less, but I think we have better options for RW.
Anaheim has 2 solid LD, so I doubt they will want 2 more of them.

Can't really risk waiting another year though, gotta go all in this year. I like the Jersey trade and the idea to get Terry. There's some good creativity here. Agree on the D and goaltending though. The D needs massive massive upgrades and I definitely am getting 1-2 new goaltenders.

Yeah moving Holtz for a guy with less than 3-4 years of control is nothing but short sighted.
Guys like Keller, DeBrincat and Troy Terry are the type of targets the Devils should look at if dealing Holtz.
Not Guentzel, Nylander, Marner, Lindholm etc
