The 3rd and 5th are essentially for Murray. The 1st and two top leafs prospects are for dubois. Maybe its a but light and if so I'm sure the leafs can add. But I don't imagine his value is as high as it should given he's asking for a trade and his contract is unknown

D men are WAY more important than wingers. It's the Draisaitl argument. If you put up 120 points but are responsible for 150 goals against, you didn't really help your team did you? Defensemen are more valuable for that reason, especially Right handed defensemen

RHD are difficult to find - I’ll grant you that but wingers who score 40+ goals (& Willy brings other elements to the table) are more valuable than all but a handful of D (those that can drive offense in addition to playing D - Malay, Josi, Karlson). Defense is valuable but nhl will always prioritize goals - that’s why Willy could (& will) end up making 2x $ what Pesce will in FA.

Nylander's making 12+? Stop. Pesce is going to make about what Nylander makes now. Think Ekholm as the comparable. As for Nylander, he's a great goal scorer... sometimes. That's always been his issue. He's so consistently inconsistent. From game to game he can be impersonating Wayne Gretzky to impersonating Brent Gretzky the next period, not even game.

Pesce is going to get a deal worth $6-7M🤯? Never say never (a lot of dumb gms in this league) but no chance imo. Pesce is not at Ekholm’s level, he’s 2nd pairing guy at best. But even if I grant you $6-7, Willy going to demand and get $9-10M. Like I said goals are more important than defense. Willy getting more consistent every year, he’ll be 40+ for a number of years

Pesce is a 1RD. His offense isn't there, but Carolina ice the top 4 evenly, and even sheltered Burns at 5v5 this season. I've made this argument before, Pesce is on the fringes of being a top 20-ish defenseman in this league. He's in the same vein as Ryan Pulock and Adam Pelech for me. I can't see Nylander making 8 digits. I can see something in the 8 range, I think his comparables are going to be Cat and Meier, but those consistency issues are worrying. I also think 40 was a bit of an overachievement. I think he's gonna settle around the 35 goal mark moving forward, and his PDO this season suggests that too. I could be wrong, but I doubt it. I don't know what that says about my ego, but hey
