Feel like you can get a better player for a second and a fourth than Trenin.

Why would you pay that much for Hill. He's never been more than a backup aside from this one run he's going on.

And that Kampf contract is wild for a 4C

Disagree. Trenin also has a cheap contract in addition to terrific PK skills and some solid skating.

No to MAF. DeSmith is just as good as he is these days, and half the price.

The Hill contract is pretty tough.

And The MIN trade never happens, nor should it.

Remember when it was supposed to cost a 1st to dump Zaitsev who’s more of a liability than Granlund? How did that one go?

Trenin has a pretty nasty two way game that a lot of teams would be willing to bite on. Especially a team like Pittsburgh that can really use the bottom 6 help

The Hill contract is tough but he’s been pretty Valuable to Vegas all year. All their goalies have. As for our own goaltending situation there is a very solid chance we could see a change. Not saying Flower would be the answer to it but something does need to change. I’d honestly want to stick with Jarry but I thought I’d try something new.

4C’s don’t go out and put up 25+ points while playing third line minutes and put up solid defensive numbers.

Minnesota declines easy. Fleury isn't a cap dump. They don't need any dman especially an LD

That was before his bonus was paid last year. But because his bonus for last season was $2M and more than half of his base salary had been paid by the time he was traded, CHI was essentially only taking on one year of his contract. An early-ish 2nd is good for that. Granlund is just as much a cap dump, except he has two years left, a $5m cap hit, $11M in salary owed to him, and no bonus.

So, maybe come to us next year at the TDL or the offseason and we can work something out at a lower cost to PIT.

Right, but if all their goalies have - I don't see how thats a positive for Hill? If he was some kind of outlier on the team then that would be.

No issue with Hill or a change - but 4 years at 4.5mil for a guy who's been in the league for 6 years and never started more than 25 games with slightly above average numbers just doesn't seem like a good move to me. He had the same regular season numbers as Desmith did before he signed his most recent contract and it was for 2 years @1.8mil. Hill will obviously get more because of this playoffs, but not that much more imo.

And I'd rather run with Desmith than MAF to be honest. Not against change if it makes sense - I just would hope they sign Hill for less and get a different backup. Or at least have MIN pay us for taking MAF.
