I wouldn't call it realistic but I don't think it's bad.

Take our AJ for Detroit and sure.
Doubt Boston, as cap ridden as they are, take that.

If Boston takes that for Grzelcyk I'll do it.

Deffence and goaltending are both worse and second line tries to pass the puck into the net, (Although switching Boeser or Rust with Rackel fixes that). But Goaltending is worse and so is the D. Ruehedal cannot be a regular, Rutta cannot be on the second pairing.

The signings are good - although probably a little heavy handed on Zucker. But that's fine. First 2 trades I'm fine with as a Pens fan - you lost me with the 2nd two though

I kind of think that's around what Zucker gets, somewhat basing off of the contract projections that are out there. Was trying to clear the Petry cap and I think Grzelyck is actually an upgrade and can drive play on a pair. It's not perfect but it's roughly the direction I hope Dubas heads in, at least in terms of the signings.

I would think you can get Zucker between 4.5-5mil. As good of a season as he had I still wouldn't consider it "pay raise" good Plus he'll be 32, has injury issues, and expressed interest in coming back.

It looks like you made changes - my comment was more on the original. So this obviously changes things a little. Depends who you're saying an upgrade over. POJ/Smith/Dumo - sure. Petry - I would say no. And you can still fit him under the cap because Hallander and Legare aren't going to be on the NHL roster

Sure I can buy that if they want to save the draft pick capital. I'm just relatively high on Grzelyck and relatively low on Petry/waiting for the bottom to drop out. I think they should be aggressive in moving the 1st rounder though, curious to see if they end up doing so pre/during draft and what they use it for. I kind of think Colton is a perfect fit for this team to help round out its bottom 6 scoring and add an additional interchangeable piece further up the lineup/on the power play. If they can get Zucker back for 4.5-5 I think that'd be great, I'd just be surprised if they can get it under 5 and wanted to be conservative.

I mean that's fair. I'm trying to temper my ratings of Boston players since that team was so ridiculous everyone is going to look good haha. I think it's pretty difficult to compare Petry and Grzelyck to be honest. It's two completely different players that wouldn't even be fighting for the same position.

I'm all for moving the first rounder if it's for a significant upgrade. Moving it for a "cap casualty" seems like a waste for me. Colton is a solid player for sure - it would depend on what they have to give up and what he costs to sign. I wouldn't consider him 14to overall pick worthy.

No - you're good. Always better to error on the side of an overpay on here. I just think when you look at his performance, age, injuries, etc - and then look at what other players got signed for last season - he's definitely in for a decrease. Not much though

Tampa Bay declines. They don't want prospects or picks. Getting Colton takes POJ and Puustinen. NHL ready, cost controlled guys at positions of need.

Make That 2nd POJ TB does that probably.
( Though I personally think Colton is a potential 30-40 goal scorer given Top 6)

Yeah, it'd be interesting to see what might happen if rough approximations of those first two trades happened and then they tried to retain Petry and upgrade the D with the 14th.

It would be interesting. Probably tough with the cap space that would be available though. Maybe they could make a run at Toews with the 14th overall? Idk

That feels like a stretch but if they could pull it off I don't know that there's a better potential add out there for them.

It probably is. I was just trying to think of defenseman who would be worth the 14th overall pick plus have a low enough AAV to be able to fit on the team in the given situation. COL isn't exactly in the best cap situation either and have 3 very good LHD - so a pending Toews might be attainable. Might

Yeah, unfortunately think it's going to be Girard they're trying to move. He would be interesting, but significantly less so and I'm not sure I'd be looking to move 14 for him.

Girard would probably be their preference - but he's only 25 and signed for 4 more years, whereas Toews is 29 and due for a big pay raise next year. So there's a chance they would entertain offers for Toews. I agree though, Girard wouldn't be worth the #1 this year.

Should be interesting. There's a lot of room to get creative and turn this team into a second-tier contender again imo.

Oh I totally agree. I think people are way too pessimistic. They were WC1 at the deadline I believe - 8 points back of 3rd with 4 games in hand. And they can easily field a better team this year.
