Description
Resign Gavrikov, resign Korpi, trade Petersen, run it back. A full season with this team, with the kids growing, should allow the Kings to take another playoff run!

No huge moves this off season. Next off season will be Blake’s year for big moves: Kopitar a free agent (probably resigns but less than $10M), Matthews a free agent, multiple goalie free agents.

Pretty close to what I'm hoping, add Durzi and offset some pieces to move Petersen if it's not enough

I think it seems pretty friendly to take on $9m in cap this year + another $5m next year for just a deferred 2nd rd pick and a swap. But I don’t think this really interferes with any of the other planned moves I’ve heard rumors about. Doesn’t hurt!

I’d pull the trigger as the Hawks.

That Hawks trade is a bunch of pieces the Hawks don't need. Just simplify it to Peterson, your '24 2nd, and your '25 2nd or 3rd for future considerations. I'm good w/ the 2nd and 3rd. Most Hawks fans on here will want two 2nd's.

Gotta disagree. Your first statement is accurate. A bottom 6 F Hawks don't need, a 3rd pair RHD they won't resign and a career AHL'er aren't pieces the Hawks would want to take on Peterson's deal.

I concur that Grundstrom and Walker (and probably even Madden at this point) are pieces that will not excite the Hawks. They are not taking on a cap dump the magnitude of Peterson to have to try to flip assets they get back to get to where they want to be to do it. For me, the Petersen trade is one of Pinelli or Grans (or maybe Spence) and a 2nd. Any Kings 2nd will be pretty late, so pairing one of those prospects with a late 2nd gets you in the neighborhood of 2 middle 2nds in value which is what the cost to move that much cap and money should be.

I'd be thrilled to get either of those prospects, but just don't see it happening. And I'm guessing you won't agree, but I see Peterson as an upgrade to Mrazak in goal. At least he stays healthy!

Depends. If CHI doesn't see Madden/Walker/Grundstrom as cap dumps and just wants some bodies to throw in the lineup, then I guess something like this might work. But, none of them hold much, if any, value to CHI. We have "bodies to throw into the lineup" already. We don't need more bodies. We don't even need a goaltender. I don't see this interesting CHI. It would be a favor, if they did.

Petersen was ruby red rotten this year in the 10 NHL games he got (same bad as the nearly 40 the previous season) and capped off his ****acular season with an attrocious Calder Cup performance. He is 5 straight years of progressively getting worse each and every season. Debating Mrazek vs Petersen is like trying to decide who is the tallest midget. Petersen is an AHL level goalie until he proves otherwise, and the last 2 years of his contract are quite a financial commitment to hope he might anything more given his last 2 seasons.
