Their RD is stacked because they have Schneider, they literally do not have a single player to replace him. Nor would they want to sign a UFA to replace him that would cost more.

understood. But can we agree their LD has holes? You could argue after KAndre Miller the other ones aren't big players (yet).
I think a guy like Harris is a good 2d pairing guy.

The Rangers are not going to try to fill one hole in the line up by creating another one. Schneider is not available for trade unless you want to way overpay for him, and I mean by a ton.

Lindgren. Their top 4 is set, Schneider on the last year of his ELC is extremely valuable. They have Harpur or Robertson making minimum as the 7th D, hopefully Zac Jones can be the bottom pair LD solution, but nothing really is worth trading Schneider for that Montreal would that would benefit the Rangers.

ok, but IMO Harris is going to be much better than Lindgren, who I don't think is top4. But agree to disagree.
I honestly think there is value for Mtl and NYR here. I get Ranger fans love Schneider. For what its worth, Habs fans love Harris too. They're completely different Dmen and I think both would do well with this trade.
Obviously I'm not saying Harris=Schneider, that's why I put in a 1st round pick in Mesar who can develop into a nice winger, or even a future 2nd line center.

Harris could end up being better than Lindgren, sure. But he's not right now, the Rangers care more about that. And Lindgren absolutely is a top 4 guy lmao, he's the perfect compliment to Fox, plays tough minutes, kills penalties, he's a warrior. It makes more sense for the Rangers to eventually replace Trouba with Schneider than bring Harris into the mix.
