Leafs don’t have anyone on the right side that’d be cheap enough in a Laf deal and don’t have a LW, C or D need at all. I don’t see a fit from our perspective.

Meier is an untouchable for me. I'd consider two moves for Bratt

- Nylander for Bratt and Reilly Walsh

- Knies, BOS 2023 1st for Bratt

Terry is the only sniper we have on the team, and at nearly a PPG player who while not being in the absolute ideal age range for our core is still young, and we have no replacement for him internally at the RW as far as we can tell.

You'd be looking at something in the Debrincat deal range as far as a futures based package. About the only prospect in Torontos system we'd be interested in is Knies.

We need scoring wingers and stay at home RHD, and you are asking us for our best young scoring winger. At a certain point you can't keep trading pieces out, and with pucks, we would just have to opportunity to try and draft a player like Terry.

So no, there's not a trade here, nothing Toronto has replaces what he does for us outside of the core four, and we don't really want to touch them as they will all be too expensive. We're just going to sign Terry to 7AAV long term.

No way. That’d be a severe overpay by TOR. I have Nylander as a little bit better and both Bratt and Nylander are only a year away from UFA

Bratt is an RFA…so is anywhere from 1 year to 8 years away from UFA. If you are assuming 1-year, then also have to factor in the nearly $2m cap difference. But it’s likely he extends.

A 24-year-old Bratt with term for a 27-year-old rental Nylander deal, done straight-up, would be foolish for Devils. Leafs would need to add with a convincing piece…and the Knies-to-Walsh gap, honestly, probably doesn’t cover it.
