Marner+Samsonov don't get Connor and Helleuyck. If both players are moved. Then Winnipeg is heading for a full blown rebuild. Therefore they'd have zero interest in Marner at $10,903,000 for the next 2 years.

Marner is significantly better, and samsonov has similar numbers at a lower cap hit. its a pretty good trade both ways

The teams with the capacity to take him on will hold all the leverage and won't just cop his deal for a late 4th a year from now.
