So do I, but not for a first, even with a mediocre goalie coming back.

The second you said Hire Sutter you lost me. Not to mention overpaying for Killorn instead of going after Haula & overpaying Korpisalo instead of just signing Sammy

Mediocre goalie? He’s an upgrade over Jarry.

Killorn is better than Haula and it’s one year to overpay. And why wouldn’t you want a coach that has won?

Sutter is a locker room cancer. He’s a very old school coach in a new school type of hockey world. He wouldn’t work out in Toronto and they’d likely miss playoffs.. like Sutter just did with Calgary

Give Me Gallant or Boudreau any day over Sutter + Haula is cheaper & younger plus a playoff performer

Just by Sutter's action in his post game interviews showed to me, he really wasn't interested in coaching. He had "given up" and just wanted to stay home on his ranch. Sure, he wanted to win, but just didn't have the energy or the willingness to put forth the work needed to be a NHL coach. Well that's my thought.
Next coach as Leafs....I don't know if I want a retread. But I certainly would prefer Keefe to stay over Dubas if one goes. Dubas's "vision" hasn't worked. He has left Leafs with below average prospects and has traded away good picks in the next three drafts.

I was anti-Dubas until this season. I am fine with keeping him. I’d much rather have ROR than any draft pick we lost. The only stupid trade he made was for Murray. As for keeping Keefe, I want a winner with experience. Sutter checks those boxes. He was given a bad job in Calgary and overachieved there. That team was never going places even with Gaudreau and Tkachuk when their biggest rivals have two better superstars. We have a team in place that is perfect for his style. He demands great defensive structure from his forwards and we have two of the best in Matthews and Marner. Then you bring back ROR, ZAR, maybe even Kampf and you’re talking about a group of forwards he can work with. It’s really the back end where we have more to figure out as to who goes and who stays. In goal we have something in Woll, it’s just a matter of if we keep Samsonov or move him.

You are getting a starting goalie plus a 23 year old winger who is still on a cheap deal, plus getting rid of a player you don’t want.

We are getting a 23 year old winger who hasn’t been able to find a spot consistently in the nhl and a starting goalie that’s no better than what we have or could find in free agency without having to give up picks with retention. That’s not 1st round pick worthy.
