Fun fact. Detroit has missed the playoffs for the last 7 years. In the last decade, They still have more playoff victories in the second round than the Leafs.

Matthews needs to get out. The Leafs organization ruined Mats Sundin, nearly ruined Kessel, destroyed Phaneuf, how many more innocent hockey players must have their livelihoods wrecked by this organization?

I always felt bad about Sundin. Gave the Leafs the best years of his career. Played mostly with crappy wingers. Took less money to get a NTC. And was vilified by Leafs Nation for not waiving it.

Think about this. Sundin was inducted into the HHOF 1 year before Shanahan was. That's how good Sundin was.

No team would give their own franchise prospect for that.

Go look at Taylor Hall's trade to Arizona and lower your expectations (and even that trade was an overpay).

Matthews is like 3 standard of deviations better than hall.

Yeah. Take the Eichel trade then imagine his value if he were healthy , now add more value because Auston is even better than a healthy Eichel based on the last 3 seasons
