Crazy to say this - but I doubt think Philly would trade TK straight up for Marner right now. I think they are building a culture and TK is a big part of that.

By the time Philly is good again, Marner will be elsewhere

As a Leaf, I don't really don't see what's in for the "non Leaf" team in so many of these trades. Not sure how two years of Marner is going to help the Flyers THAT much over two years of Konecky (and Frost) and cap for another player and then the Flyers give up a good first rounder too.

Tavares doesn't waive for Winnipeg, not a chance.

Marner was literally the best player this whole playoffs, with Willy being second best.

Matthews needs to go, and they need to get a solid haul for him. (L.A. for Byfield, Kempe, Clarke, and a 2026 1st rd or some mix along those lines), re-sign O'Reilly to stop gap and free up some cap room for the future.

Hawks decline. Takes at least the value of a 2nd to move Murray to the Hawks. Hawks don't need a G this off season. Murray is a pure cap dump from the Hawks perspective

Philly is rebuilding, the last thing they need is to give up futures for 2 years of a player that they won't be able to re-sign. I actually think Marner to the Redwings or Ottawa would make sense.

There is no way Johnny T waives to go to the Pegg and no way that the Jets give up that much to take on Johnny Ts contract. Tavares will be hard to move unless the leafs eat $2-4 mil of his salary.

1 year of matthews isn't getting all that back. Only way the leafs get a haul for matthews now is if he agrees to an extension with his new team as part of the trade

Clearly that was implied with LA, as a team he's been tied to for a bit now.

Obviously to a rental team, like Winnipeg, Buffalo, Columbus, etc, he would jettison by the following summer.

Clearly wasn't clear enough. And I think he'd consider resigning in Buffalo just as much as he'd consider resigning in LA.

No major city endorsement deals available in Buffalo.

So, I'd disagree on that sentiment.... unless he wants to do used car and mattress commercials.

He's in that tier of player where he'll get endorsement deals no matter where he plays. At this point in his career I would hope winning is more important to him than endorsement deals.

Correct Philly has no use for any of the “stars” they are rebuilding and need picks and prospects
