Watching the leafs is like a bad hallmark movie
The ending is always the same, and it never satisfies the watchers

It’s been 7 years man I’m done with this core time to shake things up

The same can be said about a lot of teams. The last 20 cups were won by 12 different franchises which is less than half. The Leafs might be the epitome of it with their cup drought but at least there's some progress with them ending the round 2 drought.

Unless they can trade Tavares somehow, you will probably wish that Matthews or Marner and/or Nylander were still on the team when they thrive elsewhere.

We all forget that the only reason Toronto got passed Tbay was because Tbay's best players failed to show up.

Now the Leafs lose to Flo because the Leafs best players failed to show up.

Karma's a ****.

Then you don't deserve to watch this team win. So many other teams went through much longer years of failure.

A lot of teams do. They just don’t get the same type of media attention and/or don’t have the same level of expectations due to the market they play in.

To be fair though most star players aren't expected to put their teams in the playoff pictures in their y1 and y2. Matthews, Marner, and Nylander's over achieving played against them when they lost in years 3-6.

That is over now anyways, them losing to Florida in 5 isn't as amembarrassing as Florida getting swepted by TB last year or Colorado losing to SEA or Boston blowing a 3-1 series to Florida. It's just as embarrassing as any other contender who gets eliminated.

Now for those Leafs fans who were saying "We want Florida", that's a different story. Firstly, because they (and the media) underestimated Florida being an 8th seed, which was a result of what would have been an embarrassing season which they salvaged. Secondly, since their the Leafs went down 0-3 and lost.
