Safe to say Franson would be better to sign than Kulikov though?

He's slow. Very, very slow. But besides that, he's not terrible. He was actually a pleasant surprise last season compared to most of our defensemen.

I'd be more comfortable with him on the third pairing, but he's not completely in over his head as a #4



Kulikov had his season derailed from a back injury he got early on. Coming into the year healthy, he's better than Franson.

Franson is more of a #6 d man he was a major let down since signing him

Not a buffalo fan. Know franson isn't that loved in buffalo just due to occasional lackluster play. However, if you look at advanced stats and corsi he is actually dead on the spot of a true second pairing defensman.

No, but on your 3rd pair he could be somewhat effective if he has a solid partner
Also, still has a pretty good shot, so he can be used on one of your PP units

I'd prefer us sign Franson as a partner for Kulak on the third pairing. I would also like Stone to resign and play with Brodie.
