Might not be a little known fact, but 1 stat to combine with the eye test. Not 1 player in the NHL has the ice flipped on them more than Krug. He's got a 79.2% Ozone start and was a -26... Its almost not possible to get ~4x the starts in the offensive zone but still allow 26 more goals than you get. It's impressive...in a bad way.

Giving up Cole Eiserman or Celebrini for Miller?

ENGs against are a byatch. To be fair, some of those were his fault.

1 - Hawks pass. You have to know that's never happening.
2 - Haaaayell naw to Domi. Eww.
3 - If we're gonna OS an LD, it needs to be Byram. Colorado are in a worse cap hell, taking from a ruval is far more strategic and he's just a little better than Miller anyway.

Neither Miller or LaF are looking to leave, so I doubt their situations even become a possibility for an offer sheet- which itself is a remote possibility.

But in the unlikely case they do face an offer sheet, what NYR have at their fingertips is Goodrow's contract to move. If they move him they have the full 3.6M addl CAP available....if they buy him out, the terms aren't too punishing- and they actually get about 3.8M addl CAP available this year. And to follow, there is only 1 year with a truly punishing dead cap #....which occurs 3 years out (when they have much greater flexibility to move either Trouba, Kreider, or Panarin).

While i like Bryam and it would likely be harder for Colorado to match i think i would rather have Ke Andre as he is bigger and has a nastier edge to his game. AND Byram's injury history concern me as we dont need another injury prone LD. As far as Max he is solid on the FO circle that is the main reason. I am not sold on Buch at Center and at this point not schenn either.

The injury concern is reasonable, but it's hockey, man, People get hurt. I don;t think he's ever missed a playoff game.

And lots of players are solid or better on draws. You don;t ignore that he's bad defensively and highly inconsistent to blow a bunch of precious cap on this guy. I'd take a team of 20 Acciaris before I bothered with one Max Domi.
