Right now the Islanders have 13 forwards under contract for next season plus RFA Oliver Wahlstrom, and only $6 million in cap space (not including Oliver Wahlstrom's new cap hit) for three roster slots, so I find it hard to see how they could absorb Taylor Hall's $6 million tab.

Boston can probably do better by trading Ullmark together with that $5 million Kuznetsov cap hit to acquire a #2 C and fill out the roster.

First of all 18 is not an NHL roster . You must carry a minimum of 22 players on your roster at all times . Most teams carry 23 . So your cap does not work .

I gotta be honest, I think Boston is done. Bergeron and Krecji cannot keep this up. Boston doesn’t have the parts to replace them. I think they are going to regress hard next year. They may not even make the playoffs.
