Islanders aren’t blowing up their blue line to fix their top line. This is two steps backward and one step forward. I love Connor but come on man!

It doesn’t solve any problems for the isles , it would make the D core one of the worst in the NHL with 0 mobility

So make the D worse, By making the O slightly better. Yeah that should work.

This team needs to retain Engvall/Fasching and then go out and sign Eyssimont/Clifton imo. More work to be done after that, but it would be a good starting point imo. Maybe target a guy like Farabee or Tippet via trade?

Overpay for Connor.

Can't see the Isles trading Dobson but something like this would make a bit more sense imo:

Connor, Pionk/DeMelo for Wahlstrom, Dobson

Could add some other pieces/picks/prospects to balance it out as necessary but that'd be the base of it.

Easier to find a LWer (as good as Connor is ) than a young good cost controlled RHD. And to give up two good assets too. Too much to give by the Isles.
