That Ottawa trade makes no sense. Trading for a guy on a down year who is 1 year out from UFA status for 2 guys who just had career years plus a lottery pick? You have to be a Sens fan. Bufffalo strongly declines. Skinner is showing no signs of aging, Mitts was good once Jost got here. I like Debrincat but not that much
DeBrincat may want to play for Buffalo as he has a history with Granato, it is doubtful that Buffalo would give up ANY assets for him especially three pieces considering the number of prospects who will be in the NHL over the next couple of years.
The 2023 13th OA is possible more valuable than the 2022 7th OA,
Casey has significantly more value than the 2022 second then add
Skinner.
Ottawa could only dream of making this trade.
@NHLLGRW all three of the trades are very bad for Buffalo.
Petry has value but not at $6,250,000 for the next two years, the Penguins may need to offer a sweetener for a team to take him.
Only a handful of team could afford to take on his full contract (Sabres, Wings, Ducks and Sens).
It is more likely that the Sabres will run with 3 GK than to trade
Luukkonen who had an up and down season (NHL Rookie of the Month for January) with a 17-11-4 record.
It is difficult for me to believe that even Adams would give up
Olofsson for such a small return.
While the Jackets may say they do not want Victor, his 28 goals and 1.6 goals/60 would have led the entire jackets team and only Laine and Gaudrea scored faster than his 2.2 pts/60.
If the Sabres could ONLY get a late 2nd 61st OA, they should keep him on the fourth line.
Olofsson, Mittelstadt, Skinner and Luukkonen are far more Valuable then DeBrincat, Petry, and Olivier, then Buffalo loses its 2023 first round pick.
If this was Buffalo's off season it would make them a worse team and their futre much worse.
