Neither does paying a top 6 forward to not play for your team...

As far as buyouts go, its MUCH more manageable, and I've heard Gavrikov and Barbashev would be taking that money

Because it doesnt matter to who rather than the substance of what. There are about 15 teams you could make an identical trade with.

That still doesnt excuse you not reading

You commented about the completely irrelevant parts. So either you dont understand what the trade actaully is or you think the exact trade that happened at the draft less than a year ago is a ****ty trade that would never happen.

    So which is it?

That trade was a difference of 13 spots in the draft, not 3, and Murray has a greater cap hit

    It's your laziness.

Actual no team wants Murray, Chi only wanted the Mrazek trade because they were in "tank for Bedard" mode. So getting a crappy goalie to help them LOSE was the key to the trade. Added bonus was the bribe offer and Mrazek's overpaid contract.

More on Murray; he is injury prone and Dubas could risk keeping him around and hope he gets "LTIR".

Notes on Conor G; the Nucks rumor of buying him out is b.s. Even by chance it happens, Dubas probably would have already spent the money on keeping Bunting.

Notes on Connor B; he will not be a sought after UFA after missing a year. I smell a PTO or at best a Kase size signing of $1.5 million range.

More notes on C. Brown; Keefe buried him on the 4th line a few years back. If the Leafs wanted a bottom 6'er at $3.5 million they'd resign Kerfoot or Engval.

Notes on ROR; Why does he give the Leafs a team discount>? He isn't past his prime like Gio or Spezza. Did Dubas talk Foligno into taking a discount>? NO. ROR has one last chance for a good payday, he won't waste it on a lowball offer.

Notes on Schenn; rumors say he likes the Nucks and will return. Similar to Bogo going back to Tbay.

Extra note; doubt Dubas continues to trade Draft capitol to pay out his problems, like he did with Ritchie and Mrazek. After trading away all those Draft picks this year, he has nothing left to willy nelly give away.

Half the term, much better goalie, and fewer dollars who got dumped for a 3rd and a 7th last summer despite being worse and having double the contract. And the reason for the whole 'could be a few teams, this is just a stand in' bit is because we dont know where picks are going to end up.

So congrats on throwing a tantrum over nothing

You're welcome to google who Dhaliwal or Drance or Farhan are.

Exactly why he has value over Garland. I disagree with it too fwiw

CF has a buyout calculator. It really doesn't right now - not cap wise anyway

    Please stop trolling.

Last thing dhaliwal has said on Garland is they’re trying to trade him. That does NOT mean they are planning on buying him out

I cannot find a single mention from Drance about garland buyout anywhere

And Farhan… well again, I can’t find anything but even if he did say something it doesn’t matter. That guy has 0 sources and makes stuff up all the time (IE he’s the one who said Demko wants out and then Demko shot that down).

As for your inability to understand buying out OEL vs Garland:

The cap penalty for garland PLUS OEL’s contract is much worse than the cap penalty of OEL plus garland. On top of that, OEL has an NMC, is older, has almost 0 bounce back potential, and has an extra year on his contract.

Garland is far far far more readable than OEL, so buying out garland to clear cap when they could simply buy out OEL instead and then trade garland later or let his contract end makes no sense at all.

You must be trolling otherwise you have the mental capacity and critical reasoning skills of a 6 year old

It makes no sense for Vancouver to buyout Garland. If they did they would be stuck with a recapture penalty for seven seasons, five of which the hit would be 1.9M. If the team were willing to eat 1.9 in retention Garland would only have a 3M cap hit. They could trade him in a heartbeat at 3M and get a pretty decent asset back in return.

I mean, I agree that it makes little sense to buy him out.
But I dont think we are dealing with entirely rational actors here. Im just going by the rumour mill, but it sounds like they are having issues with even giving him away - so the idea that they could 'easily trade him' doesnt much hold up beyond being someones option on what a players value should be

It is trolling to lie about reports, gaslight other users, make things up, and to be so incredibly obtuse in your position that it makes more sense to buyout Garland instead of OEL when it’s obviously not true.

If it’s not trolling, then it means you simply are incapable of putting together any form logic or basic intelligent discourse.

The obvious answer is, you’re trolling

I guess 2 whole pages of you arguing against everybody who clearly point out the major flaws in your trades and then fall back into your argument of “reports” and “insiders” and “smoke” (without actually providing one single example of a time anyone said garland will be bought out) isn’t trolling. It’s just your cognitive dissonance and overall inability to understand basic concepts and logical consistency

But that isnt what you said.

    Here are some facts:
A signifigantly worse Murray with twice the contract heft was moved for a 3rd and a 7th.

Now we maybe (or maybe not idk) want to move a signifigantly better Murray with half that same heft with a larger sample size and its going to cost us? Bull****. Im overpaying here. You're adding a leaf tax.

Not adding a leaf tax I’m adding logic tax, you’re throwing out the typical “cause he played for Toronto he must be worth something” rhetoric everyone on here hates. No one understood why you traded for him
And now everyone is saying “that’s why shouldn’t have traded for him” and still you somehow think he’s worth something. No one wants him and I promise no one in hockey wants to help TOR out cap wise. You have to pay just like Calgary had to pay to move Monahan.
