Hayes overpaid & overrated. Another dump.
Hart is good but goalies don’t fetch that.

2. At $5 million, Hayes would be an effective 2C. His main problem is his cap hit.
3. With the Flyers taking on Driedger’s contract, I would think Hart would fetch more.

Thats pretty reasonable for a retained Hayes, he's on pace for 60 points this season.

The cost to dump Risto would be Konecny. Better off just eating his contract for a few years then either buying it out or trading it with retention. If the Flyers want a bit of a rebuild then just keep him until it's easier to move or buy it out.

If that’s all they’d get for Hart why trade him? He’s young and a stud, if nobody wants to pay what he’s worth keep him.

Eww. Over 30, never great, sometimes good. This is an albatross. Hayes is fine in a "hockey deal" in which both teams know exactly what they are getting and giving from a need/want perspective. I guess the retention makes it ok.

Konecny is fine for Zadina and a 2nd, but adding Risto has the 2nd going to Detroit.

Ristolainen has been one of the worst defensemen in the league -- a worse Ben Chiarot.
Kevin Hayes would be replaced by Kasper when he comes to the NHL. We'd lose Zadina (who is turning into not the player we expected, but a very good 3rd liner), a late 1st, a 2nd, and a 3rd, for players that will be depth players in two seasons.

I think you confused me throwing in Hayes to the Detroit trade or got Konecny confused with him.

And mixing up Kon and Hayes....

I think Columbus would prefer to move out a contract in exchange for Hayes in addition to pick, but this doesn't look bad to me with the retention.
