In looking forward to next season, because this season has been horrific, I realized that Columbus needs to clear out a number of players for a variety of reasons. There's a logjam at RD, a pressing need at LD, a glut of wingers, and a handful of players who need a change of scene on top of all that. Given Jarmo's reported reluctance to trade Mathieu Olivier, I've kept him here, and traded away guys who seem most likely to be moved (Peeke, Foudy, Bean, Texier).
Good news: a likely top-3 pick coming in a tremendous draft for centres, the arrival of Dmitri Voronkov from the KHL (though I think he's likely to start in Cleveland), and a full-time NHL gig for David Jiricek while the other prospects develop in Cleveland or juniors. Even with Voracek's heavy contract, there should be plenty of room to sign a solid LD who can solidify the blue line; I think Graves fits the bill nicely.
I would greatly value feedback from fans of the CBJ as well as other teams; I'm trying not to ask the moon or anything WILDLY unrealistic in these deals.
Edited 3/1 to reflect real-world Gavrikov/Korpisalo and Nyquist deals. Based on feedback from MTL fans, I've reworked the Texier deal to be for Jan Mysak, rather than Riley Kidney.
Traded at the draft. Seattle gets an RD with term at a lower price than Dunn will command, and CBJ get the best 2nd-rounder Seattle can offer (put Leafs here, but it could be the Kraken's own pick), as well as a far-off goalie prospect. Could also see the Wild being a player here, given their need for cost certainty.
Traded at the draft. Change of scenery for Foudy, who gets to play with his brother and provides a low-cost option for the Avs, at least for 23-24. What's the right price for a young former first-rounder with top-tier speed and energy? I'd say a late-second-round defenseman sounds about right. If the Avs would prefer to give up a 1st-rounder in either of the next two drafts, I'm sure Columbus would be OK with that too.
Trade at draft or in advance of Free-Agent Frenzy.
Alas, poor Bean; rotten luck and lack of really good opportunities in Columbus. He's got skill, though, and the Devils will have a bunch of FAs that they can't afford to sign (not if they want to retain Meier, Bratt, and Yegor). So a future 3rd-rounder seems a reasonable enough price.

Actually the 2023 1st and 2024 3rd, but you get the idea
Tex gets a fresh start in Montreal, where his native language is spoken and he gets to feel a little more at home. Interested in comments on the return here; Tex is valuable, and I suspect he would likely not go for less than a 24 1st if it was in pick value only.

Actually the Bruins 5th-round pick based on the Nyquist trade.
i would love to get Hutson for Texier but that probably won't happen lol
Yeah, I suspect asking for Hutson, Farrell, Beck, or Mesar gets a quick dial tone on the other side. MAYBE you could get Joshua Roy, but I doubt it. Plus, building up our depth at centre needs to be top priority.
That wouldn't do anything for Columbus; they're overstocked with bottom-6 wingers, and this deal would be in the offseason, so that would only be for Gurianov's RFA rights. I think Columbus wants a pick or prospect (or both?) for Tex if they move him.
Thought about Mysak there, wasn't sure; I think that would get it done for Columbus too. I'm very interested to see how teams value Tex after a year away.

Agreed, def not as bad as Formenton drama, but I can't suspect that he'd be in as high regard as he was when he left

Low. Very low. The guy left to play in the swiss league, where he isn't top 40 in scoring.

The guy left to be near his family. I wouldn't read much (if anything) into his Swiss stats, because he's dealing with personal issues. That's why he's in the Behavioral Health program rn.

Nobody cares about the justification, the guy isnt performing. Period. Nobody will offer you value for that.
Until proven wrong, he's a bust.
You don't see Habs fans asking for a 1st for Drouin for the same reason (hope not).

Vrana wasn't picked on waivers neither...
We'll see! I'm not clairvoyant. But Texier was playing well last year before leaving the team (0.55 PPG, and with good defense and edge). He's essentially a more skilled version of Tanner Jeannot and Sam Lafferty, and we saw what those guys fetched.

may as well say any Q player has 0 value with the awful defense and goalies of the Q. Inflated numbers. Yes even Dumais.
Vadim Shipachyov was a constant ppg+ player in the KHL, what the **** did he do here. You never know someone's current value will turn out until they actually play/played NHL games (again in this case)
