Bruh, nothing they do at TDL can make up for Tuch. Its a wrap for this year. The priority should be trying different combos, giving younger players meaningful minutes, experimenting with different lines/special teams units to see what works/what doesn't. That way they'll have a clearer picture of where to focus their priorities in the off season.

No chance the Penguins are selling and they definitely aren't selling a 20+ minute Dman on a reasonable contract for just a 2nd.

Question: Why would two teams battling for the same wildcard spots trade with each other to give either side an edge?

Answer: They won't.

Sadly, that's my feeling at the moment too - outside of them trading for Meier (which seems improbable), they can't replace the speed, strength and passion that Tuch brings. I'd like to think that Adams will consider adding another offensive weapon at lesser price like Boeser but even that seems unlikely - and the only other palatable option for fans to give the team a shot in the arm to compensate for the huge loss that Tuch will be is if they promote Kulich, who's been dynamic in the past few weeks. Unfortunately, we all know Adams' history - he wouldn't promote either Quinn or Peterka last season when the Sabres were on a late season roll because he didn't want to "interrupt" their development so he's very likely going to take the same attitude in avoiding any promotions of the prospects in Rochester, despite their play earning it.

Instead, they'll revert back to the familiar and expect that a journeyman like Hinostroza / Bjork or a role player like Asplund to fill the vacant roster spot.......and the Sabres dreams of playoffs will take a nosedive.

It was always kind of a long shot given the schedule and that their best goalie is 87 years old. But there's a lot of valuable info they can gain down the stretch and a decent draft pick.

First, there's no chance the Pens are trading Petterson.

Second, if they did, he's gonna cost you a first.

There’s zero info to say Tuch is out for the year… Could be just a week or 2

It is unlikely Granato will let the players hang their heads in dispare.
Who do you think will step into Tuck's spot? Olofsson? Quinn? ????

The Sabres should win the next two games V the Caps and Jackets.
Losing the two V the Bolts and Bruins could have happened even with Tuch in the line up.

Without giving up assets, the Penguins may want to make some cap space and send Blueger, Kapanen and a third to Buffalo.
Buffalo could send Pilut and ??? to balance the rosters.
Blueger and Girgensons could form the Riga connection, while improving the Sabres PK.
The playoffs were a long shot with Tuch, let's not lose heart.

If Hinastroza or Asplund don't work, put them on the 4th L RW, and I kin of hope they put Okposo on the top Line RW w/ Skinner and TnT.

Cozens has tailed off of late - another fan pointed that, on the current roster, he's the closest comparable to Tuch in terms of size, speed and offensive drive. He showed during the World Championship last spring that he could play the wing on the top line and produce so he may be the best choice to cover for Tuch's absence, to get him going and to keep Thompson / Skinner productive.

Okposo isn't an option - he has neither the speed or stamina for 1st line minutes. If it won't be Cozens, then Quinn or Olofsson should be the next options before any consideration to Okposo happens.

I think they have to leave Cozens at C, but yeah I guess Quinn.
