Joey Anderson is actually a good player, he just can't make the deep Leafs lineup, sort of like Barabanov who has been really good for the Sharks. I think he could flourish is given the right opportunity.

None of those four elements is of any significant value to Anaheim.

I don’t care about the leafs line up, the point is any team could have had him for free, nobody took him. Why would San Jose give away a productive player for that?

-gonna defer to Sharks fans on this. Eyssimont is 3-5-8 in 18 GP, so small sample size rules apply, but he's also only shooting 5.2% - dude has 58 shots in his 18 GP in San Jose! He's gonna turn it around, and if he keeps shooting this much and shows positive regression to a 9-10% shooting percentage, he'll put up some solid numbers. At the end of the day: he's producing, Joey Anderson isn't, so adding a 7th rounder to a waiver guy isn't going to get San Jose to bite.

-Easy pass for Arizona if you include Macelli. I'd argue that Sandin/2024 1st/Robertson/Kerfoot might be close on Chychrun, but Maccelli is a 22 year old winger scoring at a 55-60 point pace this year. Adding him to this deal makes it an absolute non-starter for Arizona.

-I just don't think this is enough for Henrique with full retention for this year and next. In addition to the retention, Anaheim is taking back a pending UFA they have minimal use for, and SDA & Hirvonen are not necessarily slam dunk prospects - I think this is a quantity over quality type deal, and if the Ducks shopped Henrique, I think it would be beaten.
