I don’t think the value is crazy off or anything when it comes to the NJ trade, but there’s just no world Luke Hughes gets moved even for that return. Maybe take out Krug for a better player and it’s closer, but its just hard to see them pissing Jack off like that

But the Blues trading their best offensive threat who is signed long term, 2 1sts and retaining 2.5m for 4 years is a ridiculously bad trade regardless of how good the prospect projects to be.

Easy. I have a preference for winning. You can build a winning team around an elite defenseman. The Blues have nothing that resembles such a player. But, elite wingers with an aversion to puck possession, physical contact, forechecking and backchecking, not so much. If Kyrou would demonstrate that he's remotely coachable, I might think twice about this, but his game hasn't changed.

Theres alot here i understand... but this aint it. Kyrou could fetch a haul somewhere if youre looking to find a harder working player, you could get that. I get hes wildly inconsistent in that regard but that can be drilled into him and theres been flashs of him being a more complete player throught the season. The strength and determination could still come but that level of speed and skill is hard to come by. Hes YOUNG still.

Yes, his skill set is elite, but in 5 years under the tutelage of Berube and Ott his game has not evolved. To me, if 5 years of messaging hasn't gotten through to him, I don't believe 2 or 3 more years is going to make a difference. Also, now that he's secured a guaranteed fortune, what makes you think he's going to be more coachable? To the contrary, he plays like a drama queen with an obvious sense of entitlement.
