We probably could get Meier. But I wouldn't trade Mazur or Wallinder

Meier will is almost guaranteed to be dealt at the deadline. Vrana will be dealt for a slim 3rd. He’s underperformed recently. Wallinder is a meh level prospect but I haven’t heard of the other guy. 1st might be meh as the Wings are right now 3PTS from a WC spot. Sharks decline.

I like all the signings. I’m straight on giving up Wallinder AND Mazur AND 2023 1st for mostly anybody tbh. I do like Meier tho. I’d feel better about maybe the 1st rounder & Mazur and maybe a 2nd but that’s as far as I’d go.

If u haven’t heard of Mazur and u think Wallinder is a “meh level prospect” then you don’t know anything about either player. Just knowing William Wallinder’s name doesn’t grant you the right to assess him as “meh”.

I mean all that in the nicest way possible. If you don’t know anything about a prospect, why label him? You can post something without talking out of your you know what.

Only worth it for San Jose if they can lock Vrana up to a good contract, which is not a guarantee.

None of these guys are good enough. You would be looking at Kasper

Vrana has too many issues for a long term deal. Hes going to get like a try out deal this offseason and it wont be from the sharks

As a Sharks fan, those are very solid prospects. Wallender is nasty but I'd prefer a RD is the only thing

Wallinder has looked very good as Rogle's #1 D-Man and leads all U22 in points in SHL. He is a good prospect and will probably be a great 2nd pairing defensemen when he breaks into the league.
Carter Mazur is an alright prospect. Averaging a little less than a PPG in NCAA and won the title with Denver. Was 2nd in points at WJC U20 with 7 in 5 games.

Steve has former teammates who went through the same thing Vrana (probably) went through, so with this I'd rather keep our parts than get Meier for it anyways.

Wallinder plays RD, Just like Rasmus Dahlin with Buffalo.

What did u judge them on, their team photos? Do some research on those two before u pass ill-advised judgement.

I follow prospects every year lol.
If you want an objective ranking, neither of those prospects rank in the top 50 for Wheeler on the athletic.
He has them as 5th and 6th best for detroit with potential to be a third liner and bottom pairing respectively.
Corey Pronman has Wallinder at 98 and Mazure at 69.

Other teams meh offers include guys like Holtz, Ostlund or Bolduc all who rate much higher. Nevermind the current ask of Mercer

He looked fantastic in his return. Sadly our system is too clogged with depth wingers who can't be sent down.
Hopefully we resign him to a lengthier deal and let players like Sundqvist roam free so we can actually have Vrana play.

I think DT is not at the right spot in the rebuild to buy on a guy like Meier, maybe in a few years.

5th & 6th best prospect on the 2nd best prospect pipeline in the NHL should tell you those guys would be 1-2 on more than a handful of teams in the NHL. Wallinder projects as a top 4 defenseman and Mazur is a middle 6 (expected). Both have potential higher upside than the projections and if there was a redraft, both would be taken in the first round of their respective drafts.

Ok say I belive all that, why do I take them over better prospects being offered by NJ or STL?

You have to compete with 5-6 interested teams to win Meier, so the price will be high.
