The best forward core in the league

Description
Two first lines, a 3rd line that would be a high and 2nd liner.

Zachary Aston-Reese and David Kampf are offensive liabilities and their defensive impact is barely above average at best. Kampf is an overvalued asset who will probably get significantly overpaid this summer. Leafs would be better off moving him, getting some value to overpay.

Tyler Toffoli is a good top 6 forward, Ryan O'Reilly is a high end 2C, Pierre Engvall is one of the most underrated players in the league. They would form a very strong two way line.

Contrary to popular belief, the Leafs blueline is quite good. You could add a depth defenseman, but Connor Timmins is a really good 7D, Jordie Benn/Victor Mete as the 8/9D is quite solid

Kampf is a good penalty killer, but Ryan O'Reilly is better

If Ben Chiarot and Nick Paul can get a 1st, so can he. If nobody gives up a 1st, get a 2nd and another pick back, no big deal

Kerfoot, Kampf, and ZAR all can contribute to a strong bottom 6.

Essentially all you did was trade Knies for a 1st and get two good players in Ruzicka and Toffoli just to play them in a lesser role. While Toffoli probably does thrive playing with ROR, Ruzicka probably disappears on the 4th line.

The Leafs defence is good but they should be looking to get better, especially being in the Atlantic/East if they hope to make a deep run.

Keep Kampf for the 4th line. Joey Anderson should not be in a leafs playoff lineup without massive injuries causing it, Also zero chance he gets a 1st in return anyways.

Ruzicka's most common linemate this year is Trevor Lewis, he's been good as a 4th liner

The defense could always get better, but any trade for a defenseman will probably be a gross overpay

Joey Anderson can be swapped out with Pontus Holmberg or Bobby McMann. Only reason I had Anderson there was because he requires waivers to get sent doen. Its irrelevant in the playoffs ig.

Sutter and Keefe's systems are different though, so making all these changes probably won't work out. Better off overpaying on a defender, than ruining the chemistry of the bottom 6, especially with how good Kampf's line has been.

I don't think he is worth a 1st round pick. However, I do think there is a GM out there who will pay a 1st for him because they see him as an elite shutdown guy

Youre telling me the reward of running Engvall-O'Reilly-Toffoli is not worth it because you have Engvall-Kampf-Jarnkrok?
Kampf alone is pretty useless. When he's on the ice without Engvall, his on ice results fall off entirely. This has been the case for 2 years in a row now. Which leads me to believe that he alone isn't doing much other than being carried by Engvall

They already added Acciari which changes their 4th line. Another additon won't destroy chemistry.

Agree, Anderson isn't a NHL player. imo
