Description

With the addition of Horvat, the isles lines have all remained the same except for L1. While Horvat is a good goal scorer, he does need someone else to shoot the puck too (high amount of tip and taps this year). Bailey and Barzal are 2 of the most pass happy forwards in the league so I'd imagine Josh Bailey wont be the 1LW for very long, especially if the Islanders string together a few wins to make the front office more confident in this group.

Kubalik isnt a superstar but ranks 129th in shot attempts, 57th in HDxG, 147th MDxG, 89th LDxG and of the players available he is seemingly the best fit money wise and trade price wise.

I am enjoying people picking up on the Kuba to Islanders trend.

I think I’d prefer to see either just the second round pick or an equivalent to Salo but Non-LHD prospect coming back with the third. We just have so many LHD we can’t even keep them all in GR.

we pretty much have no other prospects, RD is barren and our forwards are just Dufour/Ruslan/Maggio at this point

i personally would say no to that fairly easily. Dont think the Isles are in a position to move Dufour unless they make another splash like a Horvat type deal

Based on Kubalik's low cap hit and term combined with his production. I think Detroit could do better than Salo and a 3rd. Especially if Detroit is retaining.

I think everyone else said it, no real incentive for Detroit to make that trade. Salo would fall on the depth chart and that's not a shot at him but at the talent we have developing. Either needs to be a second this year or a first next if Dufour is off r table.
