We know Armstrong wants like 3 1st or something like that (maybe it was 3 1sts+) but Blake is probably not doing that, and Armstrong probably wants at least a 1st+3rd for Vejmelka. So, I think they can find a compromise at 3-4 1st in value. With Petersen going the other way, 4 1sts+ (probably need to match both asks).

To get Vejmelka you need to move Petersen, which makes this really expensive.

In general the focus should be Chycrun rn and wait and see how Peterson does next year. As rn he looks like hes getting his confidence back

Chycrun to me makes the most sense for LA as he and Roy would make a solid 2nd pairing.

Chychrun would be my focus if the Kings didn't have Brandt Clarke, Roy and Chychrun would be great, but longterm you are looking for the right partner for Brandt Clarke. The Kings big issue right now is having solid defense, not so much an offensive boost (as was the situation last season). Gavrikov makes this team better more than Chychrun with our defensive and goalie woes.

Petersen to make money work, Kaliyev, Spence, 2023 1st, and 2024 2nd I would say to get Vejmelka and Chychrun

The issue with Clarke I see is Kings got to many good RD

Chycrun is a LD and Kings got a guy in Anderson whose great and Durzi has been alright in the role (looked better on the right) it just seems like LA should go get a LD to solidify their top 4

And it still could work with Clarke

See I see it differently, the Kings won 2 cups having three solid shutdown defensemen (Mitchell, Scuderi, Green: 2012 / Regehr, Mitchell, Green, Schultz: 2014). This is partially why our goaltending looked so solid. With the excess of offensive RDs (Doughty, Durzi, Clarke, Spence, and Walker), the smart move is to actually get a shutdown LD to support. Keep Roy and Durzi together as essentially your bottom pair. The biggest problem is Chychrun isn't amazing in his own zone.

that looks a lot better for the future and for right now a way more legit top six head to bottom. that’s a championship level Defense right there.

Chychrun-Doughty is a bad pair, Doughty plays at his best with a shutdown defenseman. When paired with Muzzin, his stats plummeted. Look at when he is at is his best his partners are: Willie Mitchell, Robyn Regher, Mikey Anderson. The guy thrives when he has a shutdown player, which allows him to QB play up the ice.

Chychrun-Roy will work as a second pair, but long-term you want your player for Clarke.

Realistically, I'd look at the Kuemper trade as a basis for Vejmelka, and then for Chychrun, 1st+good young player+good prospect.
