Where does it stop? It was JT Miller, then Bo Horvat, now it’s going to be Boeser? I will literally delete my account and never log onto CapFriendly again if Brock Boeser is a Canes trade and Morrow to the Canucks.

Make the draft pick a 2024 2nd that conditionally turns into a 1st if the Kings make the Stanley Cup FInals with Demko in goal this year or next, and I'd say the Kings would do it.

Here's the problem I see with all of the recent Thatcher-Demko-to-Los-Angeles trade ideas:

Demko was horrible this year, almost undoubtedly due to his injury. When he returns from rehabbing that injury, and plays the last third of the season, one of two things will happen:

1. Either he will display his earlier form, in which case why would Vancouver trade him; or
2. He will not show any improvement, in which case why would Los Angeles want him?

For sure, Los Angeles won't be doing this before the trade deadline, ergo, before the end of the season, because there won't be enough time to see how well Demko has recovered from his injury.

Canes weren't giving up Morrow for Miller. They weren't giving up Morrow for Horvat. They're not giving up Morrow for Boeser. They are not giving up Morrow for Garland. They are not giving up Morrow for Beauvillier. They are not giving up Morrow for Pearson. STOP IT

I'm genuinely curious if a Schenn for Connor Timmins trade would work. Maybe Toronto doesn't want to move a younger more puck moving d-man. But maybe Schenn re-ups with Holl a free agent.

If Demko returns to form and plays 2-3 months of really good hockey this year, I still think trading him would be good. Especially if a Demko trade involves getting a young RHD like Durzi. Demko will be useless to this team for the next 3 years as we "re-tool". In his prime form, at least he will benefit a playoff team on a decent contract. I would much rather have a good D group than an elite goalie. The canes are an amazing defensive team and currently winning while Rantta and Kochetkov have been in net and I wouldn't consider them close to elite goalies. Goalies can be picked up in FA, and we have Silovs developing in the minors too.

Could work, but we have so many offensively inclined D men. Hughes, OEL, Bear, Rathbone, even Myers is better at offence than defence. Id rather just get a 3rd and draft a d man that can hit and throw hands.

That Carolina trade is terrible.

The thing with goalies is they rarely move in tbe regular season and they rarely get traded for much. Backup options move before the TDL, but Demko has term and is probably still a top 10 in the league. Vancouver is better served keeping Demko until the offseason. If he improves drastically and gets back into form this season, he is able to be traded for a better haul in the offseason. If he is unable to get back into shape, he helps the tank, and there is always tbe hope he can turn it back around.

I'd bet Demko looks better by season's end, but he may be treading water after his support gets traded away, so it may be hard to judge if he is better.
